Artist Statement:
Inspired by conversations with my best friend, a land surveyor who introduced me to the technical concepts of vanishing points, and influenced by the pointillist techniques of Georges Seurat, Vanishing Lines began as an exploration of geometry, perspective, and perception.
Each artwork is created from a single vanishing point located beyond the visible canvas. From that point, thousands of carefully placed lines radiate across a dark background, gradually revealing wildlife, human figures, and natural forms through color, rhythm, and negative space.
What first appears abstract slowly transforms as the viewer discovers the hidden subject within the structure of the lines. From a distance, recognizable images emerge; up close, they dissolve into patterns, movement, and geometry.
Vanishing Lines invites viewers to slow down, look closer, and experience the shifting relationship between abstraction and representation. The series is an exploration of discovery, revealing how simple elements can create complex forms and how beauty often emerges from perspective.
